New Communities to Join LOGIN

We are very happy to announce that we'll be welcoming four new communities,
Washington Township, Monroe Township, Paulsboro, and Pitman, into our LOGIN
Library Consortium this coming summer. Currently, your Woodbury Public Library
card can be used at 16 LOGIN member libraries, by visiting their
facilities in person or by requesting material to be shipped to Woodbury for pickup. And
once these four libraries complete their transition, you'll be able to borrow
material from every public library in Gloucester County! The LOGIN Consortium is a
win/win situation for all library users, and a great example of the best use of your tax
dollars.
Key Ingredients : Smithsonian Exhibit at the
Woodbury Public Library!

The Woodbury Public Library is proud to have been selected as a host site for
the Smithsonian Institution’s traveling exhibition, Key Ingredients: America
By Food. The exhibition will be on display throughout the Library from Oct.
27 through December 6. Key Ingredients examines the little known, the
everyday and the obvious about this country's diverse regional cooking and
eating traditions. It investigates how culture, ethnicity, landscape and
tradition influence the foods and flavors we enjoy across the nation. It also
demonstrates how food on the American table is rooted in centuries of continuous
borrowing and sharing between people across generations, across cultures and
across the land -- and in New Jersey.
Visit our Key Ingredients site for more information about this exciting
exhibit and the programs that the Library will be offering.
This exhibit is made possible by the New Jersey
Council for the Humanities. Key Ingredients is part of Museum on Main
Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and the Federation
of State Humanities Councils. Support for Museum on Main Street has been
provided by United States Congress.

Literacy grant awarded to Woodbury Public Library

The Woodbury Public Library has been awarded a grant from the New Jersey State Library for $7,700 to develop a collection of books and audio-visual materials for literacy instruction. The collection will aid residents who need help with reading skills and English instruction for residents for whom English is a second language.
Do We Have the Book Group for You!

The library has seen the attendance at our original book group grow so much that we started a second group this year. We now offer an evening book group that meets the second Wednesday of every month at 7 PM, and an afternoon book group that meets the second Tuesday of every month at 1 pm.
The best words to describe these groups are
'fun' and 'informal'. There is lots of laughing along with discussion, and a variety of opinions on the latest book we’ve read. There two groups are open to all adults and
the library can obtain a copy of the book selection for all interested
participants. Knitting for Relaxation Program

Ever want to learn how to knit? The Woodbury Public Library holds a knitting club to teach the basics of knitting on the first Monday of every month. There is no fee; this program is sponsored by the Kennedy Health System. Please call the library at (856) 845-2611 to reserve a space. Classroom visits

Our Children's Librarian, Roxanne Long, is available for visits to school
classrooms any time during the school year. Teachers or school administrators,
please call the library at (856) 845-2611 for more information or to arrange a
visit. For more information on the library's children's programming, see

We need your used books and magazines!

The Woodbury Public Library welcomes all donations. They are either added to the collection, sold, or given away. If you have books and magazines in good condition, please bring them to the library during operating hours.
Meet at the Library

The library offers two small conference
rooms, located on the second floor. These are suitable for tutors and students,
quiet study, or other meetings of up to 4 individuals. Electric outlets are
available in these rooms for patrons to plug in equipment such as laptop
computers. Quiet study rooms may be reserved in advance by calling the library
at (856) 845-2611. When these rooms are not already reserved, they are available
to patrons by signing in at the Circulation Desk.
The
library also offers a larger public meeting room. This is most suitable for
meetings of 8 to 15 people, but has accommodated up to 30. There is also an A/V
cart with a television and VCR available for public screenings in this room. A
variety of local clubs and organizations regularly use this space for meetings,
so interested parties should reserve it in advance by speaking with the Library
