We're all gonna die!!! ... But not quite as soon as Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth would lead us to believe, according to 'The Skeptical Environmentalist', Bjorn Lomborg. His 87-minute film Cool It  is an interesting, alternative view that brings global warming into focus without the scare tactics. Our screening will be held at the library on Wed., February 15th at 7:00 pm.  It will be followed by an open forum discussion guided by Philadelphia and Farleigh Dickinson Universities and Gloucester County College Environmental Policy Professor Thomas Bowen. Prof. Bowen reports that while he is unable to leap tall buildings, he tries to remain positive in the face of Chicken Little, the media, and environmental catastrophe. Let's hope he can help us do the same! This program is free and open to the public. More information on the film can be found at: http://coolit-themovie.com/

Stop Hunger Drop-Off Center

Did you every want to really help someone? The Woodbury Public Library is a drop off center for non-perishable foods that will be distributed to the local food bank. All of Gloucester County is now in LOGIN!

We are very happy to announce that Monroe Township, Washington Township, Paulsboro and Pitman have now joined the LOGIN Library Consortium. This means you can borrow material from every public library in Gloucester County!  If you have a card from the Woodbury Public Library you can use it at all 20 LOGIN member libraries by visiting their facilities in person, or by requesting material to be shipped to Woodbury for pickup. The LOGIN Consortium is a win/win situation for all library users, and a great example of the best use of your tax dollars.

Do We Have the Book Group for You?

The library has seen the attendance at our original book group grow so much that we started a second one. We now offer an evening book group that meets the second Wednesday of every month at 7 PM, and an afternoon book group that meets the second Tuesday of every month at 1 pm.

The best words to describe these groups are 'fun' and 'informal'. There are lots of laughs to go along with discussion, and a variety of opinions on the latest book we’ve read. Both groups are open to all adults, and  the library can obtain a copy of the book selection for all interested participants. For more information on our book discussion groups and our current title selections, please visit use this link to Readers Circle.
